Nicole Roman: Fashion Blogger

July 2014 was the first time in my life that I participated in a fitness bikini contest. It was an amazing challenge and I entered the Hong Kong IFBB International Bodybuilding tournament. I won the Miss Bikini category champion and became more well known around various fitness circles. Fitness has now become a central part of my life and am no longer a rookie.

Stephanie Wang Jing: Boutique Owner

I’ve always liked working out since my first gym membership in 2005, in the basement of Plaza66. Back then I can’t say I was too serious about really training my body. I was still a little younger back then and the thought of aging and what I might look like later in life didn’t really cross my mind.

Both during my pregnancy and following the birth of my twin children I became concerned about whether I could ever get my body back into my old clothing ever again. Once I settled into motherhood and following a pretty intense breast feeding regime for just over one year I decided to get back into the gym. I used a fantastic personal trainer on my husband's advice who showed me the correct techniques to get the right results.

Now I feel great and strong. I still get self-conscious sometimes about being older than the younger 20 somethings out there but I know that I’m doing everything I can to be the best me that I can be. I have one saying that I live by and share with everyone I know… “TRUST YOURSELF!”

Lucia Lu: Freelancer

I am from Xi'an, I'm a roller skating Asian champion. I love sports and participate in rock climbing and even Argentinian tango. However, 10 years ago I walked into a gym and I met my first fitness teacher; She is from the Shanghai bodybuilding team and I trained with the head coach, Ji Kaili. Since then, I became devoted to fitness and.my life has undergone a qualitative change which has given me a healthy lifestyle and this is the best way to keep myself in great shape.

Amelie Zhou, Branding Executive

Two years ago I began running and have not stopped. Whilst running, I feel very free, extremely comfortable and very contented. It has changed me a lot. Each time I run I challenge myself to run a little bit further than previously. I ran for three months and with a regular diet lost up to 15 pounds. Furthermore it has enhanced my mood and has been a positive life change for me.

Summer Fang: Personal Trainer

I graduated from Sanda University where I studied Gymnastics. After graduating I came to Shanghai and took my personal training Qualifications. In Shanghai I have become a fitness trainer as a jewelry designer. I believe that through my training methods, I can help you to get the right changes in your body and motivate you to create a better you!

Eva Ye Na: Senior consultant

My name is Eva and I am from Anhui. I originally began exercising out of boredom but began to really love keeping fit. Following this I began to read many books about fitness and have developed a healthy obsession bringing a positive physical change!

Gabriella: Financial Consultant

I work in the financial industry but I do weight lifting on a daily basis. Going to the gym and doing Crossfit especially has significantly enhanced my self-confidence and more importantly practicing Crossfit allows me to have the opportunity to challenge myself to reach my physiological and psychological limits. This has made me a stronger person and has improved my career aspirations and made me more motivated in achieving my goals. That is why I love fitness.

Brittany Dunbar: Teacher

I am Canadian and have graduated in Pharmaceutical Science. I now reside in Shanghai and love to run on a daily basis for over an hour for good cardio. I will also run the Shanghai Marathon in September. I especially like to run along the Bund in the early morning when there are few people around.

I have a real passion from training and am extremely motivated. I train at the Golden Gloves Gym four times a week and will fight in Taipei on October 23rd for the Amateur White Collar Boxing Association. I like to set myself goals and surpass them!

Alina Negley: Personal Trainer, Model and Artist

I am a 26 year old American, adopted from Japan at the age of two. I have lived in Japan, Indonesia, Taiwan, America and Shanghai. I have a minor in Kinesiology, major in studio art and a minor in Chinese. Currently I work as a sports coach for Sport For Life, and I give private art lessons, sell my own paintings and model on the side. I knew from a young age that I wanted to become a coach/ Physical Education teacher, and not sitting behind a desk. At the age of 13 I started working as a swimming teacher in the Taipei American School.

All my life I have played many sports such as; basketball, soccer, swimming, badminton, snow boarding, baseball, rugby, volleyball, and boxing. In 2013 Alina participated in Brawl on the Bund, trained at Golden Gloves Gym and won her boxing fight. My main goal in life is to be a positive role model for young boys and girls, and to make as big of an impact on the world as possible. I started modeling at the age of 15 and in recent years has been modeling for Adidas. I truly finds coaching the most rewarding job I have ever had. "I believe that as a coach you have the ability to help direct children through their love of sports. I teach them; how to deal with winning, and losing, not to say "I can't", that practice makes perfect but that we can always do better than we are doing now and the meaning of sportsmanship."

Nicole Chen: Body coach

I used to be an interior designer but when I entered the gym for the first time the experience was overwhelming and I have never looked back. I have been training for over a decade. From the gym to the outdoor sports, boxing, crossfit, kettlebell, mace bells and club bells. I am now a trainer and have a strong focus on women's endurance, strength training and unconventional training methods. I run classes for beginners and help advanced athletes improve their core strength.
