The Working Person's Luncheon Lounge

In the fast-paced metropolis of Shanghai, time is of the essence for the modern-day worker. If you're looking for a stylish bar to escape the bustle of the city, then CVRVE is the place to be. Previously the Long Bar, CVRVE's name derives from its sleek, curved design. Situated in the heart of the fashion and business district, in front of the iconic Portman Ritz-Carlton and nearby the glamorous shopping strip NanJing Road, this is the perfect setting to have lunch and sip a cocktail or two to ease the midday strain.

In such a busy city, the worst thing you want is to have to wait too long for your food. Luckily, CVRVE have created a convenient "Working Lunch" menu. The trained staff are speedy and efficient enough to make sure you spend more of your lunch hour savoring their authentic tastes than waiting on a hungry stomach. Taste the fresh, organic flavors of their own Mediterrasian cuisine, subtly complimented with a touch of Asia.

Despite its luxurious setting, prices are affordable. For a mere price of RMB98, you can choose from an assortment of antipasto, salad or sandwich, and a variety of drinks. For an additional RMB40, treat yourself to a dreamy rich chocolate fudge cake with vanilla ice cream - heavenly goodness to satisfy your sweet tooth!

However if you're watching the calories, a light summer lunch can be just as delicious. The grilled fresh salmon on a bed of organic asparagus (RMB148), topped with CVRVE's very own Mediterranean dressing is a healthy option to fill your lunchtime cravings.

The baked chicken breast (RMB128) is a more filling option that's slightly less healthy but absolutely perfect for cheese lovers. Those that like to snack can spend an entire afternoon munching through the spicy hummus and tzatziki with toasted pita and crudités (RMB58).

For cocktail lovers, this place is a hidden paradise. Despite the premium price tag of RMB98, the signature cocktails remain a popular hit with Portman Ritz-Carlton guests and on-the-go shoppers.

And thanks to the influx of premium spirits and high-quality liquors now available in Shanghai, CVRVE have been able to conjure up even heftier concoctions for both Chinese and Western palates. With a selection of the menu named "Playground", don't be afraid to experiment. Be ambitious and try exciting new blends such as the Rockefeller Manhattan - not for the faint-hearted! You're almost spoilt for choice, with a range of premium vodka, single malt whiskeys and champagne also available.

If you're looking for a cheap after-work tipple, then head to the "Rush Hour" Happy Hour for a relaxing wind-down. Running from the flexible hours of Monday to Sunday at 3pm to 9pm, there's no reason not to go. Offering a wide range of cocktails, house wines and beer for only RMB45, there's just so much choice catering for your busy lifestyle. So, what are you waiting for?
