What I Learnt This Week: Pet Peeves and Jackie Chan

1) Stray animals will follow you home if you so much as wave at them. Not just strays either - I was almost at my door before I realized a woman was chasing me down the street, yelling "Stop! Stop!" Or some such equivalent. Turning, I saw that an adorable little puppy had trotted happily along behind me. Brave little mite, I resisted the urge to pick him up and make a dash for it.

2) Women killing chickens on the street require an armada of police. A lone woman, rather gruesomely gutting a chicken on the side of the road, was gradually surrounded and removed by around fifteen police. The sight was remarkably akin to chickens (pre-beheading) flocking around corn, except there were no visible signs that the officers were devouring the lady in question. She stood on a crate and shouted to high heaven while throwing her arms wildly around - it's not Speaker's Corner I'm afraid my dear.

3) Jackie Chan is undeniably, irrefutably, incandescently awesome. Having attended the latest filming for TV show, Asia Uncut, not only was the kick-ass kung-fu master interviewed - and utterly charming; just like snoopy - but Asian superstar and heart throb Wang Li Hong also dropped in for a surprise appearance. Then there was some guy with a ripped body, though who on earth he was or what he was doing there I can't quite recall - I think Korean? But JACKIE CHAN! Thoroughly entertaining, I will be keeping my eye on future guests!

4) Nobody's going to rain on my parade! Despite not having enough clothes on to stomach this utterly freezing weather, I'm still determined not to admit this to any of the snide onlookers who keep asking me "Aren't you cold?" Bugger off!
