Noodle Bar

As of July 31, Xuhui's not-so-hidden gem Tianzifang has just welcomed another eatery into its family of sophisticated and hip institutions. Simply named Noodle Bar, the clue is in the name. A tranquil bar tucked away in one of seemingly many corners of the maze that is Tianzifang, Noodle Bar offers diners and drinkers the best of both worlds. Indulge in impeccable noodles from around the world whilst enjoying a refreshing beverage in the casual, cool atmosphere only found in bars. Alternatively if you're looking for a chilled out place to grab a drink and fancy a bite to eat at the same time, then Noodle Bar will happily fulfill those needs.

A massive advantage of this place is that it offers a range of noodles, prices, and drinks for a range of people. From the humble RMB7.99 to 29.99 and dishes not only from China, but Thailand, Vietnam (the Vietnamese noodle soup (RMB29.99) is a corker), and Italy, this really is a place suited to picky eaters. In a bid for authenticity, each dish is presented differently to give diners a true taste of the origins of their food.

If you like a bit of spice in your life, the Sichuan dan-dan noodles (RMB14.99) are a solid choice, but on a hot summer's day, the cream mushroom noodles (RMB29.99) would be great on your plate. Settle down, get comfortable and bask in the casual atmosphere of the bar.

Already with plans to seasonally shake up the menu and to introduce new edges to the simplistic theme of Noodle Bar, this place is just getting started. Gao, the owner - who is big on hygiene and the environment - has provided us with "the best noodles in Shanghai". That kind of confidence certainly doesn't come from a sub-par restaurant.
