Shanghai's first medical joint venture with a South Korean hospital chain opened in the city's Hongqiao area. Ye Medical Center Shanghai, claimed to be the first "boutique clinic"in China, has about 15 Korean doctors and nurses specialized in dentistry, cosmetic surgery and health care. Ye Medical Group, founded in Seoul in 1992, has developed a hospital chain in South Korea and has clinics in China, VietNam and Russia. Its 55 member hospitals in Korea provide specialized treatment in dentistry, plastic surgery, ophthalmology, pediatrics, gynecology, internal medicine, Chinese medicine and dermatology. Ye is one of the most recognized brands in Korea, especially famous for plastic surgery.
