Virtual Learning Academy

Enroll in stimulating online courses from an accredited American High School.

Overview
This program is being developed to:

a) benefit students who might not be able to continue their studies at LAS or other schools due to conflicting schedules in their home countries,

b) assist students who want to add to or accelerate their learning,

c) provide flexibility and support for home-schooled students, and

d) offer an opportunity for international students to study an American curriculum delivered by highly skilled Western educators.

The Virtual Learning Academy offers choices in all the core subject areas: English/ESL, Math, Science, and History, as well as numerous electives. It provides rigorous online courses throughout the year. Some things to note:

1. Courses are accessible 24/7.
2. All instructors are certified in their subject areas and possess advanced degrees.
3. Courses materials, assignments, and student responses are delivered via Nicenet (a Blackboard type website) and during weekly Skype seminars.
4. Enrollment is open. Students may take up to 3 courses per module.
5. Courses can be taken for credit or non-credit.
6. Course modules are one semester, one half credit. They are offered in 11-week modules throughout the year. Each module requires 75 hours of class work. Two consecutive modules are required to gain a full credit.
