It seems like there’s no respite for Shanghai, and certainly no sleep for record label Modern Sky; a week after Strawberry Festival wrapped up, they’re launching their first dedicated EDM Festival, going by the name of MYTH.
Set to take over the Expo Park with three stages (NEW WORLD, RESISTANCE & SHANGHAI) on Saturday May 14th and Sunday May 15th, the festival is designed to savagely scratch China’s growing EDM itch/crippling obsession (possibly a necessary measure as EDM continues to bleed over into everything, everywhere).
The headliners list is a pretty impressive rundown of artists, including ex-Cataracs member and solo chart-topper KSHMR, Canadian duo DVBBS, their old partner in crime BOURGEOUS, the fresh-from-his-UK-Takeover DANNY AVILA, and, for their China debut, weirdo Aussie duo KNIFE PARTY.
Last of all (on the schedule, that is, he’s closing the event at 20:30 on Sunday), MAD DECENT founder, Skrillex co-conspirator responsible for Bieber’s unfairly catchy ‘Where Are U Now,’ co-creator of Major Lazer and ‘Lean On,’ producer for Beyonce and Madonna, none other than World No. 20 DJ DIPLO.
